What keywords can I use?
These are high-quality in-content links, so this is a good place to use your exact or partial match anchor text, but ONLY if linking to a value-driven piece of content. Most of these publications have editorial staff who will nix links if they appear SEO-driven.
Do you accept XYZ niche/anchor?
There are a few types of anchor text and links that we don’t accept: Geo-based keywords (IE, dentist NYC, dentist in NYC) as many publishers do not accept these, they look spammy and don’t fit naturally into a sentence. Adult, pharma, or otherwise gray niches. Sexual Orientation based niches. Casino / Gambling. Firearm-related niches. Foreign (non-English) keywords. Politics and International News.
What is the difference between the HOTH’s offering and other link outreach products?
Link-building is not something new and many providers offer this service. But beware, there are many services that claim they are a link outreach service but in fact, are not. Many other services have a private blog network that they use for posting your article, where they own all the sites. This can leave a footprint, and that isn’t what you want for a white-hat product like this. We do not use a blog network to post your articles. All the sites we post to are manually contacted and are real sites. Some services only include links to your site. We also link out to other non-competing authority sites to be as natural as possible. Beware of cheap link outreach services – you often get what you pay for (manual penalties and de-indexing).
Can I see or approve the content before it's published?
We do not allow approval before posting this product. However, we have written thousands of these articles, and our customers love them. These are high-quality articles written for a real human audience, not SEO (thin content only aimed at appealing to Google’s algorithm), AI-generated, or promotional articles.
What is link outreach?
Link outreach is the process that we use to target sites for backlinks. We first identify where your link would be most relevant and find a large list of real blogs and websites that could be potential targets. Then, we vet them for quality – ensuring they are real sites and have good metrics (based on the site’s authority or traffic via SEMRush). Next, we pitch ideas to the blog, and they agree on a suitable topic. After that, we write a quality article, and they publish it!
What is Boost?

What are Domain Authority (DA) and Domain Rating (DR)?
Domain Authority is a score measured on a scale from 1-100. It focuses on predicting how well a website will rank in the SERPs and uses multiple factors to determine that. Domain Authority is based on a logarithmic scale, meaning it’s easier to go from a DA10 to a DA20 site and more difficult to go from a DA30 to a DA40 site. You can learn more about Domain Authority here. Domain Rating is essentially the same concept but determined by SEO software Ahrefs rather than SEO software Moz. It is more focused on the pure strength of the backlink profile, whereas Moz’s domain authority considers other SEO factors. We have clients who prefer one to the other, so that’s why we offer both!
Does this refer to the traffic I receive from the link?
No. The metric is based on the estimated traffic that the publishing site receives as a whole (data from SEMRush).
How do you measure traffic?
Traffic is measured using Semrush by looking at worldwide traffic for desktop and mobile devices. Looking at worldwide desktop and mobile traffic allows us to get a comprehensive view of how much traffic the publishing site receives. We cannot promise region-specific traffic.
Which is better: DA, DR, or Traffic?
First, it’s important to point out that DA, DR, and traffic are not mutually exclusive. The vast majority of sites that we sell based on DA and DR have good traffic, and the vast majority of sites that we sell based on traffic also have good DA or DR. Traditionally, the SEO industry and our buyers have preferred higher Domain Authority or Rating sites, which pass link juice and encourage higher rankings. Usually, a site with high DA or DR also has good traffic, and vice versa. Recently, our customers have been asking for sites that have guaranteed traffic. The thought is that if the site is getting traffic from Google, then Google sees it as an authority. We decided to give our customers the flexibility to pick their links based on DA, DR, or website traffic so you can try new SEO tactics and stay at the forefront of the SEO industry. All of the sites we find to accept your links will be high-quality, so selecting either DA, DR, or Traffic will give you a great link. It comes down to your personal preference and preferred way of measuring a linking site’s quality.
Can I choose both DA & Traffic Level?
We do have bundled options for DA and Traffic for those who want both guaranteed!
Do links from websites with a lower domain authority help increase my site's authority?
Yes. As stated before, backlinks to your website act as ‘credibility’ votes. However, quantity and quality matter to Google, so you’ll need to generate lots of links if there’s a noticeable gap between you and the competition. For instance, if your competitors all have an average of 80 links and you have 12, you’ll need to generate approximately 78 links to even things out. Situations like these are where links from lower domain authority sites come in handy (granted, they aren’t spam links). Once you’ve accumulated enough link volume, you can focus on quality since higher DA links will have a more significant impact. A link from a DA40 website to yours carries more value than a DA20 link. Yet, both links help even if your website is DA50.

What is the turnaround time?
The turnaround for this product is ~30 days. It has a longer turnaround than some of our other products because the entire process is manual. We could do it faster if we did it cheaper (i.e., blasting generic outreach emails to every site we can find), but this product is all about quality. At times, we can also deliver faster than 30 days; it just depends on the link outreach period.
How long does it take for a backlink to be indexed by Google?
This depends on how fast Google crawls the site. It can range from a few days to several weeks. We send your report as soon as the post is completed, so it may not be indexed right when you receive it. With that said, if you find that a link is not indexed after 90 days, we will reach out to the publisher to request they manually re-submit the URL to their Google console to try to trigger a crawl. We do not have control over the sites your site is published on, so this factor is outside of our control. If the publisher’s request is unsuccessful, we are happy to set up one replacement for the affected order.
What happens if my links go down?
We guarantee to fix or replace any broken links for 6 months. If you are on a Discount Tier Contract or are on an active HOTH X Subscription, we will replace any links that go down for 1 year. This usually doesn’t happen, but we put this guarantee here for your protection.
Will I receive multiple placements from the same website?
We guarantee unique placements for 6 months for whatever subdomain you target from your website. You CAN receive a placement for the same overall domain. For example, https://www.thehoth.com/link-outreach/ would not go on the same site for a minimum 6 months. However, https://www.thehoth.com/link-insertions/ could end up on the same site that https://www.thehoth.com/link-outreach did.
